When you are looking at an animal that is predominantly one colour, how many colours do you think would be used to create that “single coloured” fur? There needs to be some variety to create the illusion of depth. Any guesses as to how many colours were used to create the lovely cream coloured fur of Nienna’s body? Five? Ten? Actually, I used nineteen colours. Yup, nineteen! Creams, whites, greys, yellows, blues, reds and purples to name a few. I have got to admit that one of my favourite parts of the drawing process is looking for those hidden colours!
