At first glance, white fur might seem like a challenge when placed against a white background. But here is the secret- white fur is rarely pure white. It carries subtle tones and shades that can be tricky to spot at first.
One simple trick to help train your eye is using a small square of pure white paper- about 2 inches by 2 inches. Punch a hole in the centre and place it over different areas of the fur. The colour peeking through the hole will often look warmer or cooler compared to the true white of the paper around it. This method makes it much easier to see the natural variations in tone.
